“…business is the social science of managing people to organize and maintain collective productivity toward accomplishing particular creative and productive goals, usually to generate profit.” wikipedia

Do the two of us share the same goal?

I am starting my own online business. Why? Because I would like to have extra money to pay bills or create security for our retirement? No.

I’m approaching my 63rd birthday and my 43rd anniversary. My husband is retired. We have two adult children. Until recently, both of our children had responsible positions that earned them good income and decent benefits.

Five years ago our daughter was stricken with fibromyalgia. Although she earns $45 an hour in her job, she averages only 12 hours at work in any three week period.

Debilitating illness is not something the average person plans for. (Neither is outsourcing or $3.60 per gallon gas). Our daughter certainly didn’t. She has investigated Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). It will take months, possibly years to get it. To apply she cannot have made more than $940 a month in the preceding year. Even if she does get SSDI, it will put her at the poverty level.

Our daughter is currently on FMLA. She hoped to use this time to improve physically. She also hoped to find an online business she could get into that would pay her mortgage, car payment, insurance and taxes even when she cannot work. She has been unable to finish any of the projects she’s started: she’s spent just about every day lying in bed, unable to sit at her computer. Despite the numerous prescription pills she takes every day, she is in pain and depressed.

While she researched various online opportunities, I did my own research. I was mainly researching the appalling number of schemes being offered to my daughter and anyone else looking to make a side income on the internet. Many of these “start your own online business and begin making money in just a few hours” were actually being promoted by vast networks of multi-level-marketing (MLM) companies. If I told you the real names and products behind these shell organizations and companies, you’d be shocked.

One of my personal goals during this period was to take advantage of the free blog and free websites that are relatively easy to set up. It was my intention to post a few articles focusing on my daughter’s niche (environmentally friendly products) and creating links from my free sites to hers. Why? To help generate more traffic to her website and thereby increasing her chance to make commissions as an affiliate and a drop shipper.

Networking works.

During my research I discovered an MLM company that offers two services that no American should be without. The fact is: 97% of adults in the U.S. and Canada don’t have these services. That means there is a huge potential for customers.

But while the company uses internet technology, its focus is on the familiar face-to-face approach that relies too often on what I refer to as high-pressure.

I ordered both of their services.  As I said before they sell themselves. They are everything I’d hoped for. That made me even more determined to educate the public about them while creating income.

Because I came to the company through their corporate site, I was assigned a sponsor. Susan is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about both the service-side and the business-side of this remarkable opportunity. I told her I was interested in joining but that I was not going to attend meetings or pester friends. She accepted me under those terms.

I did not mention that I do intend to sign up my daughter. I see this as a real opportunity for her to make an ongoing income without leaving her home.

So you if share my dream to get started in an online business with a minimum upfront investment, if you want my help in walking you through the process and my pledge of continued help of referrals, etc. even after your business is established, use this link to take you to my brief questionnaire.

I am looking to mentor people who share my goals and values. You’ll find my approach is especially geared to those who are retired, housebound, or are currently employed with limited time.
